WASHINGTON – Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will be sworn into office at noon on January 20, 2021, in Washington, D.C.

The presidential oath is mandated by the United States Constitution. It is typically administered by the chief justice of the Supreme Court but that is not a requirement.

The mandated oath reads: “I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of the President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
