Not Many More Miles To Go

Miles to Go- or so it seemed to me when I started working on the idea of bringing my own website back to life. Maybe some of you remember that this idea of having my own website had occurred to me when I in 2015 when I was in China. At that time because my popularity with the Chinese was at its peak, I thought I could cash in on that, but I couldn’t others did. At that time my goal was of establishing a Hindi-Chini Bhai Bhai platform, because there was some sort of bonhomie growing between the two nations and the common interests of working together for a better world were being worked on. Thank god it didn’t work out, but the thought never left me.

Sincerely speaking the thrill of using this platform for expression of my thoughts is also lost to me since quite some time now, but there’s no other place to go to. I started posting some of my writings at Face Book but there are no serious readers there. So, in November last year, when I met one Web Designer for getting the invitation card for the marriage of my son made, the thought struck me again. I paid for domain name there and then, but I could not pursue it until six months after that. I asked him to start working on it in February and then this Lock downs started.

So, there have been delays and more delays, but I haven’t given up….Now it seems to me that the Miles that I thought were still to go have mostly been tread. The site is hosted and is working. The spade work has been done, but the hitches and glitches are being ironed out. There are still some modifications and improvements like Having a Discussion Forum as was suggested by Geeta Kashyap that hasn’t yet been added to it, but the work is going on on it.

The Editor on my website is more elaborate but let it not intimidate you, you don’t need to bother with the default settings unless you really want to fiddle with it to see the effects. At this moment I just want you to join in with me for finding the complications and defects hindering its smooth functioning. I also look forward to your suggestions for modifications and improvement and I promise that I will get those incorporated as far as feasible. So requesting you to join in.

Please visit https://thewriterfriends.com/ and let me know Whether you like it or not and what modifications would you like to see in it. The categories at this moment are just a random set. You can suggest to me as to which categories should get included/excluded from which page. Looking forward to help and Co-operation from you.

Best Regards

Navneet

An Encounter with Covid 19

By Navneet Bakshi | January 21, 2022

Hmm. Should I call it an encounter? Assault will be a better word to use, I think. To the best of my understanding of the nuanced difference between an encounter and assault, in an encounter, one is equally equipped to fight the opponent, while assault is used when one is suddenly accosted by an enemy.…

MEMORIES OF SHIMLA- USING CART ROAD

By Navneet Bakshi | June 24, 2020

The long stretches of our walk on the road without interruptions, gave our imagination time to soar high as our harangues, spiels, gossips and hyperbole could go on and on without being disrupted by beautiful distractions like those of a bevy of girls walking back home and coyly looking at us blushing boys and then…

Beyond Hydrabad

Already many people who attended the meet have filed their reports. In this surfeit of praises on the  pleasant and successful meet at Hydrabad another blog will amount to embellishment.
