Everybody yearns for Appreciation

Everybody yearns for appreciation. Yet most of us are shy of appreciating others. We may forward many useless political trash but are often reluctant to even acknowledge an interesting write up from our near and dear ones.
Appreciation is the lubricant that make us to perform our best. The beauty of appreciation is that it gives the giver also almost the same benefit. Appreciation should be sincere and heartfelt, Specific and explicit.
We require it regularly and can get regularly to our system when we do it. So let us start appreciating people around us.
One of the recent things which I noticed in LinkedIn is the prompt to appreciate someone for their work anniversary or for their new role or some other achievements like publishing a paper, getting a PhD and so on. For the past few days this has been my first routine in the morning after a usual walk. I found that my energy levels are getting higher and higher especially when many acknowledge the message.
I started responding to them by sending messages initially on the lines given by LinkedIn like” Congrats”, “Congratulations”, “Awesome”, “Good luck” and with names at the end like Congrats Vidhya” etc. Later I started making my own messages like “Well-done Vijayakumar on your well-deserved promotion”, “Happy Shalni that your preservice has paid off”, “You made us proud John with your publication” and so on that most of the time and still using the prompts of LinkedIn for some time. I think, when we appreciate others genuinely our brain gets liberal dosage of those happy chemicals DOSE and promotes better self – esteem that leads to positive emotions and a feeling of well-being.
I find that my energy levels are more when I type my own phrases rather than selecting those by LinkedIn. Perhaps when we type the message reaches brain and releases the DOSE chemicals better. Putting a like or some emoticon may not be a bad idea but then your DOSE gets reduced! Thank you. ==Rcay===

Very very true..
No wonder the Bard said “The Quality of mercy is not strained…….It blesses him that gives and him that takes…’ Appreciation is certainly something that has its basics in Compassion!!!

By Navneet Bakshi | May 9, 2021

Remembering Mother On Mother’s Day   Rudyard Kipling said: “God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers.”   Every mother loves her children. And every child adores her at least till he is a child. In some cases it lasts longer and even beyond life. My mother died young. God can’t send all…
