Bill Gates Blog: 2021 will be better than 2020 to address the COVID challenge

Richest countries of the world have been financially and physically challenged in 2020 to stop the spread of the Corona pandemic.

Pharma companies of Germany, US, Russia, UK and India have put their resources at risk to produce the 3 vaccine candidates readied in record time and quantities to stop the menacing pandemic. New mutants of Corona 19 discovered recently in South Africa and UK are making the effort exasperating. The mutants infect and spread 70% faster but reportedly less lethal; but they do weaken the human immune system causing common colds and flu.

As the year 2020 winds down, read all about the challenges the world faced on how to produce billions of doses of vaccines in record time of ‘ less than a year’. Older vaccines,  flue and polio vaccines for example of yesteryears,   took 10 years to produce in quantities needed by the world!

Read Bill Gates Review (gates notes at link below) to learn all about how Covid 19 challenged the world in 2020.

Bill hopes that 2021 will be better in stopping this charging bull by its horns.

It is quite commendable of him to not take credits for his contribution. Agreed that he has no hand in the research but we all know that the biggest handicap in pursuing any research is money. I read somewhere that this is what is causing hindrances in the progress of work at Bharat Biotech. It is indeed remarkable that such a fast paced research for a vaccination hasn’t ever been there in the human history and let’s hope that the vaccine proves its efficacy when given to the general public and there are no adverse reactions. Already, the new strains are out there to challenge the reach of man as they have outpaced it and I hope they don’t outsmart it.
