INDIA-MALDIVES – Security initiatives, Mutual cooperation in trade and tourism

Amid the “India Out” campaign that has been roiling Maldives for months, its President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih, issued a decree on Thursday banning protests against INDIA, citing a threat to national security. Maldives has signed up for ‘Indian Coast Guard Security for the tiny islands in Indian Ocean.
Additionally, Maldives FM is on 2-day visit to India seeking greater cooperation from India in bilateral trade and commerce. Meets India’s EAM Dr Jaishankar
